Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to management, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Budget Management: Develop, monitor, and report on the organization's budget, providing variance analysis and recommending corrective actions to align with financial goals.
Grant Accounting: Oversee the financial management of grants, including budgeting, expense tracking, and reporting to ensure compliance with funder requirements.
Audit Coordination: Lead and coordinate the annual external audit process, including preparing required documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
Internal Controls: Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard the organization's assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including IRS requirements for nonprofit organizations, and prepare and file necessary tax forms, such as the IRS Form 990.
Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support strategic decision-making, including cash flow forecasting, financial modeling, and scenario planning.
Policy Development: Develop and update financial policies and procedures to ensure consistency, efficiency, and compliance with best practices and regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to enhance their skills and professional development.
Collaboration: Collaborate with program managers and other departments to support financial aspects of program planning, implementation, and evaluation, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and goals.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred, not required.
Minimum of 3 - 5 years accounting and finance experience.
Fundamental knowledge of GAAP.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and accounting software, Blackbaud Financial Edge HIGHLY preferred.
Analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.
Willingness and ability to do office work
