Protection Engineer - 10 + YearsLocation: DenverState/Territory: ColoradoDepartment: Power Delivery SAS V DeptDescriptionProtection Engineer - 10+ YearsPOWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Power System Protection Engineer to join our SCADA and Analytical Services (SAS) team. The home office for this position is located in Denver, CO but offers the ability to work remotely from a mutually acceptable location within the state of Colorado. The candidate should expect to report to the Denver, CO office.Roles and ResponsibilitiesThe successful applicant will be responsible for successful completion of assigned projects and for maintaining and improving client relationships as well as developing and growing new technical service areas. Completion of these functions requires technical competence in primary production roles as well as leadership competence in working with clients and mentoring and supervising team members assigned to projects.  Assigned projects will include electrical studies for utility and industrial/commercial clients.  Systems to be analyzed will include conventional and renewable generation facilities, substations, and transmission and distribution systems.  Technical disciplines include the following:Protective Relaying: short circuit and symmetrical component analysis, time-current coordination, protection scheme and criteria development, relay settings, integration with SCADA systems, NERC compliance, arc flash analysis. Applicable software:  AcSELerator Quickset (SEL-5030), GE Enervista, ASPEN Oneliner, SKM-PTW, ETAP, RSCAD/RTDS The successful applicant must also demonstrate aptitude in the following:

Required Education/Experience 

Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (BSEE)

Ten (10) + years of industry experience 

PE or equivalent

Desired Education/Experience Preference is given to applicants with any of the following:

Power Systems focused MSEE

A proven history of completing similar projects in a consulting environment 

Experience in mentoring others and in providing technical and commercial leadership in customer focused engineering projects

That might seem contradictory to some, but it works for us!Salary DOE: The pay range for this position is $86k - $187k per year; however, base pay may be higher or lower depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
