AECOM has a position available for a mid-career Mechanical Engineer to support our growing Energy Business Line. The responsibilities of this role also include, but may not be limited to, the following:Development of mechanical equipment and piping material specificationsProduce calculations to inform design such as hydraulic modeling, pipe stress calculations, tank and pump sizingCoordination with mechanical design team to direct completion of engineering drawings.Multi-discipline collaboration on the development of equipment general arrangements, P&ID’s, isometrics, asset and tie-in lists, orthographic, etc.Attend client meetings and/or site field visitsWorks under limited supervision.Performs both routine and non-routine, complex design assignments that require judgment in resolving issues or making recommendations.Maintain open communication with project team (including remote staff) regarding workload planning, task estimating and budgetingWorking with Project Engineers and Project Managers on developing workload forecasts, design schedules and budgets for electrical engineering work activitiesCreating, updating, and implementing group specific standardsPrepare technical reports and presentations that explain research, findings, and recommendations.Interact with vendors, regulatory agencies and contractorsPreparation of project specification and contract documentsAbility to check and verify work prepared by peer/groupApplies strong knowledge of industry standards, guides, specifications, and procedures specific to working in with US mechanical and industrial infrastructureEnsure that the technical and safety standards are maintained in all aspects of design work
