Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Grant Accountant in Denver, Colorado. The successful candidate will be part of a team that specializes in complex accounting duties, financial management, and policy establishment. The industry is diverse and dynamic, and the role is pivotal in assuring financial compliance.Responsibilities: Conduct complex accounting duties for the preparation of financial documents, records, and reports. Examine accounting data for accuracy, appropriateness, and documentation. Assist in the interpretation of laws, rules, and regulations, and clarify procedures. Monitor expenditures and income related to various program budgets to assure availability of funds. Act as a liaison between agency personnel and contractors. Prepare and distribute monthly or quarterly status reports. Review and reconcile cash and account balances and prepare monthly cash flow forecasts. Learn and serve in backup roles for donations processing and budget process. Assist in the development of new procedures as needed. Utilize Microsoft Excel and other relevant software for various tasks. Requirements Must possess at least two years of experience in Grant Accounting. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential. Demonstrated ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is expected. Experience with grant management and reporting is preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team is desired. Must have a high level of integrity and dependability. Should display a strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
