Description of JobColorado Employee Assistance Program (CSEAP) exists to maintain a healthy, productive, statewide workforce and to reduce the direct and indirect costs of performance concerns associated with behavioral health problems through clinical assessment and counseling, referral as appropriate to additional resources, consultation with supervisors and managers, employee coaching services, and workplace wellbeing and conflict management services.This position provides direct delivery of CSEAP services, in accordance with Department of Personnel & Administration (DPA) and CSEAP mission and values, and consistent with behavioral health professions’ ethics and standards. This includes addressing the needs of a diverse population by understanding and responding in a culturally responsive mannerA summary of the duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:Clinical Services: Provide in-person, video, and telephonic clinical assessment and evidence-informed counseling to state employees. Counseling includes applying brief solution-focused strategies in work with individuals, couples, and families. This position also informally refers clients to other internal or external providers and coordinates services as appropriate including coordination of urgent/emergency response in situations when employee or client safety is a concern. This position responds to urgent counseling requests including single- or multi-session response to client crises or urgent needs. As assigned/scheduled, this position provides temporary in-person ‘pop-up’ counseling services to state employees working in rural or underserved areas of the state. Critical Incident Response and Education/Presentations/Facilitation: Coordinates and serves as primary contact for critical incident response. Provides evidence-based response in support of agencies, departments, and individuals who have experienced workplace critical incidents or adverse events. Works with teams experiencing conflict or tension including consulting with leaders, assessing team dynamics, facilitating team discussions, referring for additional support or services. Serve, as assigned, as a health and/or professional coach. Provide wellbeing presentations as needed/assigned. Team Leadership/Peer consultation/Team Participation/Recordkeeping: Serves as supervisor to clinical team members and interns as assigned. Maintains availability to the CSEAP team for regularly scheduled and as-needed consultation to reduce organizational and provider risks and enhance opportunities for success in high-risk and high-difficulty cases. Engages in weekly and annual Team Meetings with all staff. Maintains professional expertise in clinical counseling, EAP services, and appropriate specialty areas. Maintain all records in accordance with CSEAP, state regulations, HIPAA and ethical standards. Actively participates on internal committees or internal dialogue involving programmatic and process changes and improvements impacting delivery of CSEAP services. Engages in training associated with role/work/position as requested/required by CSEAP. You must provide your license information at the time of application. The exceptional candidate will possess the proven ability or accomplishment in the following preferred qualifications:

Recent (within the past 5 years) experience providing counseling in response to mood disruption, suicidality, relationship concerns, substance use concerns, grief/loss, and other concerns.

At least 3 years’ experience providing administrative and clinical supervision to employees

Experience in an EAP setting

Experience providing critical incident and/or adverse workplace event response

Couples counseling and family counseling experience

Experience providing presentations on personal wellbeing and mental health topics

Experience working with teams experiencing conflict, tension, or change; training in facilitation and/or conflict resolution

Training and/or experience providing professional, life, or health coaching

Conditions of Employment:

A pre-employment criminal background check will be conducted as part of the selection process.

Travel as needed within the state of Colorado including ability to travel unexpectedly between CSEAP field offices and state agencies.

Must attain residency within 8 weeks of date of hire

Must obtain endorsement for licensure within 8 weeks of date of hire

Appeal Rights:
