Description:Actalent is seeking an experienced Design Engineer for a top customer in Northern Lancaster County.Responsibilities:
Design systems for the manufacturing industry including: flexible sorting & feeding technologies, vision-guided robotic applications, product assembly & primary packaging systems, robotic case packing, custom depalletizing, palletizing, and conveyance systems.
Lead all elements of project design from concept brainstorming through detailed design.
Create and/or modify concept layouts, 3D models, assemblies, and detail drawings utilizing SolidWorks Computer Aided Design (CAD) with SolidWorks Product Data Management (PDM) software.
Apply internal best practices along with applicable industry standards, e.g. ANSI, ASME.
Maintain engineering assets and technical data package throughout product lifecycle, e.g. drawings, revision history, bill of materials, literature submittals, etc.
Develop and conduct tests for system performance and engineering design validation, including design-level calculations, simulations, and analysis.
Works directly with customers, sales and marketing to ensure an understanding of product requirements.
Qualifications:
BS Degree in Mechanical engineering or other relevant field
Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial automation design (motion control, robotics, laser systems, machine vision, etc.).
Mastery of AutoCAD/Solidworks software in designing automation and robotic systems, including knowledge and experience with mechanical components, fabricated parts, and electromechanical hardware.
Knowledge of the fundamental physics and environmental interactions that influence design (i.e., thermal, structural, vibration, dynamics).
Strong logic, reasoning, and problem-solving skills to identify and evaluate multiple hypotheses, solutions, conclusions, or approaches.
