The Civil Construction Management (CCM) Superintendent is responsible for managing schedules and overseeing and coordinating the daily field activities for all phases of a civil construction project. The CCM Superintendent supervises all trades, vendors and subcontractor work, as well as Fiore’s tasks, for production, safety, quality, and project completion. The CCM Superintendent is responsible for all phases of the project, from initial planning to job completion. Additionally, the CCM Superintendent is instrumental in facilitating the immersion and integration of the field experience for the employee.TOTAL COMPENSATION$109,200 to $166,600 annuallyESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Examine contract drawings, specifications and addenda for design deficiencies, impractical details and possible code violations, and bring these to the attention of the Project Manager or project owner to determine improvement needs or RFIs.

Work with General Superintendent or Superintendent to schedule activities with all trades for coordination to achieve best project completion, understanding the overlap of trades and work so as to capitalize on potential.

Provide leadership and establish and maintain effective and professional working relationships among all operating units, trades, vendors, and subcontractors.

Manage changes and assist in leading the team through the change. Create new or adjusted plan or schedules to stay on budget and on path to completion.

Identify project safety requirements and concerns compliant with OSHA and project needs and take corrective actions if necessary.

Maintain and complete accurate daily and weekly project progress activity reports.

Recommend changes to work schedule in order to improve productivity.

Ensure that each Subcontractor complies with and maintains project specifications.

Perform construction activities including, but not limited to, preparation, operation, closing of job site and proper testing of work completed.

Ensure crew and subcontractor clean-up occurs on a daily and weekly basis.

Demonstrate solid team leadership and assist with training and development. Be accessible to all trades to address questions or concerns.

Take initiative to seek opportunity on the jobsite with tasks such as design, coordination, and quality items that can be put into action

Schedule, facilitate and document meetings with all trades regarding schedules, job conditions, etc.

Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to develop partnerships with vendors, inspectors, and other stakeholders, to inspire cooperation and boost project efficiency even in areas outside of the company’s direct control.

Ability to communicate potential problems and inspire trust such that potential problems are taken seriously and acted upon by other teams well before they become actual problems.

Ability to maintain calm and motivating attitude on job site, even in the face of dramatic plan changes, severe complications, and inappropriate clients, vendors, or other partners.

Ability to handle stressful situations in a profoundly professional manner.

Deep knowledge of heavy civil construction from a planning perspective, including but not limited to:

Practical knowledge of federal, state, and municipal building codes related to heavy civil construction activities, excavation, demolition, utilities, subgrade prep, concrete flatwork, paving (concrete or asphalt), signing & striping, street lighting, traffic signaling, retaining wall and erosion control with reclamation.

Ability to read and interpret plan drawings.

Ability to foresee project flow from several stages prior to Fiore involvement to several stages after the company’s scope of work is complete.

Thorough understanding of how every aspect of each project scope affects every other.

Ability to foresee problems many stages before they become an issue and develop and communicate possible solutions, along with related changes and costs.

Demonstrated knowledge of all aspects of the construction process including technology, equipment, materials, and methods.

High level organization, planning, prioritization, coordination, and the general ability to manage several moving parts over multiple projects at once, with a big picture perspective of business and thorough understanding of profit and loss, including:

Ability to multi-task, coordinate, delegate, and supervise project activities and staff.

Understanding of budget project principles.

Ability to work effectively while under pressure to meet deadlines.

Big picture understanding of business, profit and loss, crucial prioritization, and high-level decision-making with a solid level of knowledge in accounting principles such as types of profit, assets and liabilities, etc., and an understanding of materials markets with the ability to track and project market changes to drive purchasing decisions.

Excellent organizational, grammatical, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex problems at a time.

Project and team management/leadership skills and experience with no less than 5 years of experience as a foreman or other supervisory role in a related field with a demonstrated track record of excellence.

Top-notch problem-solving and analytical skills, combined with a good attitude and a healthy balance of confidence and humility to be able to effectively solve problems, including:

Ability to be goal-oriented and positive; able to react to challenging circumstances to achieve desired end result.

Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products and project-related software such as B2W Track, Procore or similar. Proficiency with resource loaded schedules with MS Project or similar software.

Strong math and writing skills, including the ability to communicate professionally verbally and by email and to understand and perform complex mathematic equations in real-time.

Broad understanding of safety and OSHA compliance with 30-hour OSHA safety class within 30 days of assignment.

This position requires the ability to communicate in English with co-workers, customers and the general public.

Willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and/or holidays as required to accommodate customer and project demands.

Preferred

Engineering, project management, construction management or similar trade degree

5 Years of Supervisory experience in the construction or trade

Broad understanding of Safety and OSHA compliance with 30-hour OSHA Safety class

Understanding of budget project principals.

Experienced in the use of View Point and B2W Track software to extract and provide job cost analysis, project information and produce related reports.

Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS This position requires the ability to communicate in English with co-workers and the general public.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS This job requires the ability to do and understand complex math equations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work functions require the physical ability and mobility to safely walk in uneven, undeveloped, slanted, and potentially muddy grounds as well as climb various pieces of equipment. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds intermittently. Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time. Work functions also require the ability to withstand the office environment, sitting and standing for extended periods of time, reading a computer screen for extended durations, and maneuvering paperwork.WORK ENVIRONMENT: Combination of outside work and office environment. Outdoor work exposed to variant weather conditions (extreme heat, cold, rain, snow) and muddy ground conditions.
