Description Robert Half has partnered with a construction service company in Cherry Creek in search of an Assistant Controller! The Assistant Controller position is paying $110,000-$130,000 + 10% bonus!The Assistant Controller will be responsible for the following:
Accounts Payable: Process and manage all vendor invoices and payments. Ensure timely and accurate processing of accounts payable transactions. Maintain and reconcile vendor accounts. Respond to queries about payment status from vendors and internal colleagues.
Accounts Receivable: Oversee and manage invoicing and collections. Ensure timely collection of outstanding receivables, working together with Sales team and customer contacts. Reconcile accounts receivable to ensure accuracy.
Bank Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness. Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Account Reconciliations: Reconcile various general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness. Prepare and review reconciliations and make necessary adjustments.
Corporate Credit Card Reconciliations: Reconcile corporate credit card statements with company records. Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and appropriately categorized.
Financial Reporting: Prepare and present regular financial reports to management. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, along with monthly budget-to-actual comparison reports.
Payroll Processing: Process payroll using ADP Workforce Now, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations. Manage employee records and resolve payroll-related issues.
Software Management: Utilize QuickBooks Desktop for day-to-day accounting functions until the cutover to NetSuite. Leverage NetSuite for advanced financial management and reporting. Maintain and update ADP Workforce Now for payroll and employee management.
Compliance and Controls:Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices, especially coordinating with Service Department to streamline process for purchase orders (including change orders) and vendor invoicing and payment. Stay updated with accounting standards and best practices.
Requirements for the Assistant Controller include:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
10+ years of accounting experience
Construction experience is highly preferred
NetSuite software experience is highly preferred
