Our client is hiring a Power Plant Operator!
Location: Colorado Springs, CO (100% On-Site)
Shift: 10:30 PM – 6:30 AM (Overnight Shift)

We are looking for a dependable and skilled Power Plant Operator to join our team in Colorado Springs, supporting overnight operations of a power generation facility. In this critical role, you’ll be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining essential systems that ensure the safe and efficient flow of energy.
This is a hands-on, high-responsibility position suited for individuals with strong mechanical aptitude who thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and monitor boilers, turbines, generators, and associated equipment
Adjust controls to regulate power output and manage system flow
Monitor meters, gauges, and control boards to ensure optimal performance and identify potential issues
Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment
Diagnose system malfunctions and coordinate or perform necessary repairs
Maintain accurate operational logs and records of meter readings, performance, and repairs
Respond to equipment alarms and operational disturbances promptly and safely
Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to address and resolve technical issues
Follow all safety protocols, regulations, and operational procedures to ensure a safe working environment
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience in power plant, utility, or mechanical system operations (5+ years preferred)
High school diploma or GED required
Universal EPA Certification (must be obtained within 6 months of hire)
Stationary Engineer Certificate (must be obtained within 30 months of hire; training provided)
Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated ability to safely operate complex mechanical systems
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents, schematics, and system manuals
Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently on overnight shifts
Strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
