Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Day Porter / Night Porter to join our school’s facilities team. As a Porter, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for students, staff, and visitors. Your responsibilities will include cleaning classrooms, restrooms, and common areas and assisting with special events. Porter's operates under the leadership of the school's Head Custodian.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and dusting
Empty trash bins and replace liners
Clean and sanitize restrooms
Assist with setup and breakdown of events
Monitor, report and assist with any maintenance issues
Ensure compliance with safety protocols
Qualifications:
Must have a valid Social Security Number
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous custodial or janitorial experience is preferred but NOT required
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Basic knowledge / experience on how to use tools (Screwdrivers, hammers, leaf blowers, drills, monkey wrench, how to change a light bulb, how to use a plunger, etc.)
Reliable transportation
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Ability to follow directions clearly
We do background checks for the safety of the children and staff
We provide training on special work equipment and tools to candidates who are COACHABLE
