Department InformationThe Colorado Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) has four major operational divisions: Army National Guard, Air National Guard, Civil Air Patrol, and Veterans Affairs. These divisions utilize state and federal resources to provide our communities, state, and nation with a ready military force for national defense and State emergency response as well as providing assistance to our Colorado Veterans. Carson base and will perform work associated with multiple firing ranges on base. NOTE: Based upon the sensitivity and knowledge and use of military weapons, this position will require that you are a current or former military member with an honorable discharge and at a military rank that provided understanding of the overall operation of a military organization, and with the ability to coordinate between regular and reserve military components. This position will oversee the activities at the firing range to include:

implementing and establishing processes, policies and procedures for the operation of the range.

overseeing the scheduling via Range Facility Maintenance Support System;

ensuring all range operations are conducted to Department of the Army standards;

coordinating the development of procurement, operations, maintenance, and construction resource requirements;

identifying Automated Targetry Systems and other range device requirements;

managing the range budget;

applying and enforcing the Range Safety Program;

ensuring that adequate numbers of fully trained personnel are scheduled to support range operations and that radio communications are conducted to military standards;

conducting and preparing briefings and tours, directly interfacing with military, civilian and law enforcement agencies desiring to use the range complex; and

constructing range surface danger zone diagrams to standard.

This must include experience with budget monitoring or preparation, preferably with an understanding of federal budgeting procedures. Special Requirements:

Must be a current or former military member with honorable discharge, military rank that provided understanding of the overall operation of a military organization, with the ability to coordinate between regular and reserve military components.

Must have and maintain a Colorado Driver's License

Must have or be able to obtain a security clearance.

Must submit to background check both at pre- and post- employment.
