Description Robert Half in Denver has partnered with a long-standing private equity owned construction company in search of a controller! This role will manage the accounting and finance function for a stable specialized construction firm, leading a team of 3-4 direct reports. Duties:

Oversee all accounting functions and ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

Utilize expertise in job cost accounting to track project expenses, analyze profitability, and provide insights into project performance.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance and operations to support decision-making processes and drive business growth.

Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures

Oversee and manage financial reporting processes

Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations

Coordinate and supervise accounting staff activities

Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets

Manage cash flow and budgeting processes

Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to financial regulations and standards

Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making

Collaborate with other departments to optimize financial performance and achieve organizational goals

Stay updated on accounting principles, regulations, and industry trends to ensure compliance and best practices

Requirements:

Possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting roles, with at least 3 years of recent leadership experience, demonstrating the ability to effectively manage and develop a team.

Hands-on approach to work, willing to dive into details while also providing strategic guidance and direction.

CPA designation or relevant advanced degree preferred.

Construction industry experience HIGHLY preferred

Demonstrate potential and ambition to grow into a CFO role over time, contributing to strategic planning and financial management at an executive level.

Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices to continuously improve financial processes and procedures.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Possess the ability to navigate complex financial transactions and reporting requirements.
