In addition, provides clerical/office support within a physician clinic, including, but not limited to reception, telephone, medical records, charge entry, referrals, and retrieval of medical information from internal and external systems and sources. Also provide support by facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the patient. Demonstrates personal accountability for relationship- based care, organizational mission, and core values.The value you’ll bring to the team:
Assists with overseeing patient service representatives in accordance with Centura policies and procedures, work guidelines.
Assist with staff development of performance goals and objectives.
Assist management team in conducting performance reviews and established quality of service standards.
Effectively manages office expenses.
Assists in preparing work schedules to ensure adequate staff for patient volume.
Identifies and resolves office operational problems.
Responsible to partner with management team and HR for recruiting, hiring, orienting and training new staff members.
Resolves problems, ensures compliance with medical regulations and office standards for quality patient care and customer service.
Assists in overseeing work environment, equipment and supplies at levels to assure quality patient and customer service.
Schedule and confirm patient appointments and revise appointments as needed.
Greet patients/caregivers and provide whatever assistance needed in a manner that reflects the high quality of services with the understanding that the provision of quality medical care requires active teamwork and professional conduct.
Follow up with patients who have not kept appointments.
Thorough and confidential maintenance of patient charts and records including importing and communication of scanned documents.
Accurately gather and process all necessary information and data to complete all requirements in medical records, referral, billing, and any medical treatment purposes.
Timely processing of medical records according to best practices.
Utilize registry to optimize pre-visit planning for patient care needs.
Planning for patient appointments prior to their arrival, to include insurance coverage and medical record needs.
Obtain and process appropriate payments at time of service.
Verify accuracy and update all demographic data in the electronic health record, and identify communication and financial barriers; contribute to the patient plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team if barriers are identified.
Provide relationship-based care that strives to understand what is most important to the patient.
Care will be delivered with respect for cultural differences and the diversity of human experience.
Cross train to all clerical operations and be prepared to work in other areas as needed.
Demonstrates a commitment to the organization through ongoing participation at clinic based meetings.
Answer and place telephone calls as they relate to job duties; taking accurate messages from patients for providers
Use quality measures to improve performance and accountability for patient outcomes, patient experiences and safe delivery of care.
Partners with clinic leadership to lead continuous process improvement by taking an active role in patient experience and satisfaction.
QualificationsThe expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :Minimum qualifications :
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: 2 years’ experience working in a healthcare setting; previous work history that demonstrates basic office and computer skills, filing, telephone answering, reception, basic
Knowledge of computer software i.e. Microsoft Word, E-mail, Excel, etc.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience in an outpatient clinic or physician office
