Position Overview
We are seeking a “Assembly and Metal Fabrication Technician for Light Sculptures” to join our team. This role is essential in the manufacturing of our products. The candidate will be assisting with the fabrication, assembly, packaging, and quality control of porcelain and metal light fixtures. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, takes pride in craftsmanship, has experience working with metal, electronics, and power tools.
Key Responsibilities
Fabrication: Interpret a schematic and cut, drill, bend, and thread brass components to match detailed specifications
Polishing: Sand and polish brass and other metals to a consistent finish.
Quality Control: Inspect work throughout the finishing process to ensure high standards are met including color matching.
Collaboration: Work closely with the production and assembly teams to keep up with timelines for projects.
Maintenance: Care for fabrication tools and materials, ensuring a clean and safe workspace.
Miscellaneous: We are a small team and will need additional assistance with part inspections, packaging, and assembly of the light sculptures.
Required Qualifications
Strong attention to fine details. Seriously. Hundreds of steps go into building a sculpture and must be completed with 100% accuracy.
Ability to follow written instructions and procedures to a “T”.
Able to safely work with hand tools and power tools with provided personal protective equipment
Ability to learn and grow within a collaborative team environment.
Ability to follow detailed processes
Ability to use computer, email, read/edit documents and basic spreadsheets
Comfortable with and motivated by deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with metal fabrication or related craft
Experience in assembly of complex parts and systems
Experience in electrical soldering
Interest in artisan production and appreciation for handcrafted design.
Time management, organizational, communication skills.
