The Quality Control Technician is an agent of change and improvement. This positions main role will be helping the bakers and packers adhere to proper processes, recipes and standards, seeking corrections on the floor and reporting on the compliance and efforts to attain quality by assuring that company standards are maintained and product integrity is preserved. This position is also responsible for the surveillance of our compliance with federal, state, local, GFSI and Core Values.

Essential Duties

To help us maintain process and recipe control is an essential part of the job.

Reviews and ensures compliance with process and specs for materials, product and quality standards including approved process like formulations, cut weight, PH, temps, scoring, and specs.

Monitors production, materials and product for quality deviations; requests and reports corrections needed.

Proposes, implements, surveys, collects and analyzes bakery documentation related to processes.

Assist as needed on the training of employees on Process Controls and the requirements of HACCP and programs affecting our Quality.

Provide support for HACCP activities: develop, implement, monitor, verify and validate all HACCP activities.

Follow set processes and ensure adherence that all aspects of operation meet all GMPs and Product Quality Standards.

Position Requirements

Knowledge of FDA regulations, GFSI and HACCP. Knowledge of food manufacturing processes and understanding of microbiological organisms and their impact on process and products.

Initiative, organizational skills, ability to work independently; ensure timely actions by effective follow-up at the proper level.

The QC Tech will be able to work with other departments specifically Production, Sanitation and Packaging.

Leadership and Communication Skills ” efficient and effective oral and written communication to all levels of the organization; builds and maintains strong leadership and perseverance.

Asist QA Manager on our readiness for audits including AIB, NSF, Regulatory, Customer, etc.

Position will be performed on the production floor. There will be minimal but necessary desk time. Must be able to stand for an 8-hour shift.

Proficient with MS Word, Excel and Outlook

HACCP Certified, and food sensory analytical practices are a plus.

Bilingual is a plus.
