Food-conscious Food Truck Staff

Colorado, Boulder, 80301 Boulder USA

Howdy! PLEASE READ ALL THE WAY THROUGH BEFORE APPLYING. We want to value your time and ours :)

OVERVIEW

We are a market-driven barbecue food truck using uncompromising ingredients. We serve some of the cleanest prepared food available anywhere. Meats from small local ranches, vegetables from small local farms. No seed oils or GMOs.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for an enthusiastic, punctual, hospitality-minded individual who enjoys guest-facing service in a fast casual/counter service environment.

Food prep is also a component of this position; a passion for food and cooking would be more than welcome. Attitude is most important; skills can be learned. If you're remotely interested in food-driven hospitality there's a lot you can get out of this position. It's also okay if you're just looking for a job in an environment that's both fun and takes work seriously.

TIMES / SHIFTS

Depending on the person and availability this position could be part-time or full-time. Friday through Sunday daytimes are the main three shifts with others in the mix. This could very easily be a full-time job for the right person.

OPPORTUNITIES

This is a place to engage in and be a part of the culture of food and service while making decent money. A position in the early stage of a growing business with future possibilities. An opportunity to serve food you're not embarrassed about in any way (the worst feeling!). A meal every shift.

COMPENSATION

Average pay (depending on tips) is $16-$35 per hour. We can talk more about this during our first interview.

WE MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT IF

- you care about local food systems

- you enjoy the buzzing energy of restaurant service

- you enjoy talking with customers (especially about food)

- you are detail-oriented and punctual

- you love farmers' markets

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

- Basic food preparation

- Setting up stations for service

- Taking orders from guests

- Assembling salads and sandwiches

- Cleaning and maintaining stations during service

- Dishwashing

HELPFUL QUALIFICATIONS (again, attitude is more important than skills)

- Previous experience in the food industry, particularly in a restaurant setting

- Ideally you're a server who enjoys working with food or a kitchen person who likes people

- Proficiency with POS systems and cash registers

- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle cash transactions

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently

- Knowledge of food safety protocols and sanitation practices

- Ability to suggest menu items and craft an experience

- Experience in food preparation and handling

PROCESS AND TIMEFRAME

Market season has already started and ramps up drastically the first week of May. First we'll schedule a video interview and if you and we think it might be a good fit we'll do a few-hour food prep shift. Then we'll train during service on Saturdays.

We don't have the luxury of five to seven service days a week or an unlimited training budget so service training will be one or two shifts at most and then you'll be live.

We're looking to interview then hire and begin training as soon as possible (as in starting next week). This would mean some food prep on Thursday and/or Friday and then training during service on Saturdays. Let's goooo!

DON'T SKIP THIS FINAL PARAGRAPH

If you apply for this position please include in your email something about a memorable meal you've had in your life and something about the experience that made it special. Best of luck in your search :)
