Their work specifically seeks to understand how the convergence of these areas can lead to new opportunities to discover enzymes with improved properties and impart materials with biological function. This research draws on expertise in biophysics and structural biology as well as single-molecule methods for characterizing protein structure and dynamics on surfaces.What Your Key Responsibilities Will BeThis candidate will investigate the use of enzymes to catalyze the degradation of plastics in non-aqueous solvent environments. While carrying out research in this area, they will develop and understand a novel approach to address the challenge of remediating plastics in our environment.
