RASEI has developed an ambitious strategic plan, defining research and development goals that need to be realized through, in many cases, large, complex, multi-institutional, multi-disciplinary, and vertically integrated programs. Over the past few years RASEI has expanded its research portfolio in a competitive environment. To continue to grow, RASEI will need to provide high-quality staff support to prepare competitive proposals and to successfully implement those that are funded. This position will handle the primary financial roles crucial for RASEI to operate and implement its growing portfolio of externally sponsored research programs. Our mission is to expedite solutions that transform energy by advancing renewable energy science, engineering, and analysis through research, education, and industry partnerships.What Your Key Responsibilities Will BePost-Award

Manage funds for contracts and grants using CU financial reports and the RASEI accounting system to:

Build shadow reports (graphical and tabular) for principal investigators (PIs).

Meet monthly with PIs to provide project financial reports.

Work with the Budget Officer to resolve project funding management issues.

Perform post-award assignments/duties:

Purchase goods and services and capital and non-capital equipment.

Request extensions and supplemental funding requests.

Submit progress reports, final reports and be responsible for the award closeout process

Participate in RASEI financial systems, and analyze efficiency and operations for RASEI facilities.

Assist RASEI members and faculty regarding sponsored research, general fund, auxiliary, and gift accounts.

Advise faculty, research scientists, project personnel, and students of grant and contract procedures and regulations as determined by funding sponsors and federal, state, university, and RASEI rules.

Manage the RASEI travel services team in planning business trips funded through sponsored projects using knowledge of federal, state, university, and RASEI policies and procedures to ensure compliance and maintain an audit trail.

Coordinate and manage all of the property for the department and its staff as the Department Property Manager.

Pre-Award

Perform pre-award assignments/duties to facilitate the timely submission of sponsored funding opportunities.

Serve as the main point of contact with PIs; CO-PIs; subcontractors, etc., throughout the submittal process for all documents required for the submittal.

Review and guide the PI to adhere to timelines and criteria.

Review and provide budget requirements to RASEI Directors.

This position will be in the office full-time during the training period. After training, the position will be hybrid with three days in the office and two days remote per week.

What We Can OfferThe hiring range for this position is $57,000-$66,500 annually. Bachelor's degree and one year of relevant professional experience (finance, accounting, and/or pre-/post-award management).

An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
