Dawson, a K-12 independent school of 535 students located east of Boulder on a beautiful 112-acre campus, seeks an Associate Director of Admissions. Dawson is a growing and passionate educational community dedicated to the healthy development and education of all of its students. The Associate Director of Admissions oversees the admissions process for families applying to grades K-8 at Dawson and reports to the Director of Admissions. This position is available immediately, but has the flexibility of starting as late as July 1, 2024. This position works year-round.

Professional and Personal Qualifications

-Bachelor’s degree and at least 3+ years of admission and/or independent school experience

-Knowledge of the admission field and independent schools, including principles of best practice

-Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with different constituents

-Effective at interviewing students and families

-Maintains an attitude that encourages teamwork and personal responsibility

-Strong technological skills, experience with Google Suite

-Excellent written and oral communication skills

-Discretion and attention to professional boundaries in the handling of privileged and confidential information

-Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

-Flexibility to work irregular hours, including occasional weekends and evenings for admission events

Responsibilities

-Manage all aspects of K-8 Admissions at Dawson

-Guide prospective families through the admissions process from the time of inquiry to matriculation

-Lead tours in-person and virtually for prospective families

-Assist with the planning and execution of major admission events throughout the year: Open House, Information Night, New Student Welcome, etc.

-Work closely with Lower School and Middle School faculty/administration to communicate Dawson’s curriculum and programming to prospective families

-Oversee the Lower School and Middle School admissions committee, run weekly meetings, prepare applicant files for review

-Develop relationships with local pre-school and elementary schools; represent Dawson at recruiting events

-Keep informed and up-to-date on trends in admission

-Partner with Director of Admissions and Tuition Assistance on implementation of Tuition Assistance program

The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $75,000. Compensation is commensurate with experience and relevant skills.
