Our work depends on Senior Systems Engineer joining our team to design and define system architecture for computer systems. Coordinates system development to include design, modeling, security, integration, and formal testing.HOW A SENIOR SYSTEMS ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACTCandidates with proven depth creating solutions with VMware and experience managing enterprise scale VMware environments will be positioned for success in our organization. The selected candidate will design, build and deploy robust hosting environments for large enterprise systems. Additionally the engineer will build, maintain and migrate a variety of physical and virtual systems to on-premises, cloud, or hybrid infrastructures. The engineer will provide support to multiple WAN connected sites, with data flows crossing various controlled interfaces, and will follow specific IT project management and engineering lifecycle processes. Engineers will be responsible for supporting their solutions throughout the IT project lifecycle, to include refining requirements, creating design documentation, creating installation instructions and deployment plans, and providing O&M support. Project assignments will vary based on skill level, and may include engineering geographically dispersed services, integrating services into public, private and hybrid cloud environments, engineering solutions to be deployed via automated CM tools, and hardening the solutions to address security and DISA STIG compliance.

Administration of VMware vCenter and VMware ESXi

Administer, operate, manage and maintain physical hardware components to include Dell and HPE rack mount servers

Facilitate routine software upgrades in a non-disruptive manner

Monitor all infrastructure components to include overall system health and capacity metrics

Participates in special projects as required.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:● Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science● Required Experience: (Five) 5+ years of related experience● Required Technical Skills:

Experience with VMware vCenter 8.0/7.0 implementation and support.

Experience with data center installation/upgrades for VMware environments to include vCenter and ESXi hypervisors.

Understanding of networking fundamentals for switching/routing and experience configuring vSwitches and ESXi host networking.

Experience with migrating workloads within a VMware environment as part of routine host/storage recap.

Experience with managing work tasks via tools such as JIRA and ServiceNow.

Experience with developing baseline configurations for ESXi hosts including the implementation and maintenance of security standards, specifically DISA STIGs.

DoD 8570 certification

This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
