Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team. This role is ideal for a professional looking to develop their career in public accounting, working directly with a diverse portfolio of clients. The Staff Accountant will be primarily responsible for preparing client tax returns, managing client ledger work, and assisting with various other accounting tasks as needed. A key aspect of this role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with our clients, requiring a professional demeanor and excellent communication skills. Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and review various federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and other entities.

Perform comprehensive client ledger work, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, account analysis, and reconciliations.

Manage client accounts, including paying bills, receiving deposits, and budgeting.

Assist clients with accounting software utilization and provide guidance on best practices.

Communicate directly with clients to gather necessary information, answer questions, and provide professional accounting advice.

Build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor.

Collaborate with senior accountants on complex tax and accounting projects.

Stay up to date with current tax laws, accounting principles, and industry trends.

Assist with other ad-hoc accounting and administrative tasks as required to support firm operations.

Actively participate in professional development opportunities and firm-sponsored training.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

1-3 years of experience in public accounting or a relevant accounting role is preferred. The more experience, the better.

CPA license preferred but not required. Candidates actively pursuing their CPA are encouraged to apply.

Demonstrated technological literacy with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software programs, accounting platforms, and internal processes (e.g., QuickBooks, Lacerte, etc.).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and approachable demeanor.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Proactive and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.

Client-service oriented with a commitment to building strong professional relationships.
