“Every person deserves compassion, dignity, and the safety of a place to call home.” Homelessness is the largest social and public health crisis in California. Illumination Foundation (IF) is a growing non-profit organization dedicated towards disrupting the cycle of homelessness by providing targeted, interdisciplinary services in our recuperative care centers, emergency shelters, housing services and children's and family programs. IF currently has 13+ facilities with 22+ micro-communities scattered across Orange County, Los Angeles County and the Inland Empire. Job Description The Intake Specialist is responsible for completing client intakes at agency facilities and assisting case management staff with client care needs.The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience. Responsibilities

Complete client intakes in a timely manner and in accordance with agency workflow and standards

Maintain internal agency documentation requirements in agency EHR and Google Suites

Utilize the Homeless Management Information System to enter client information

Demonstrate a strong understanding of MediCal and Medicare insurance and utilize this knowledge to refer clients to insurance funded programs that assist with social determinants of health

Utilize MyCalWin portal to assist clients with accessing benefits as a Community Based Organization

Orient clients to facility amenities and rules upon intake

Assist case managers with client service connections

Assess client need for recuperative care services

Acts in an ethical manner reflecting core values of integrity, transparency, accountability, respect and responsibility. Acts above reproach in all that is done on behalf of Illumination Foundation.

Models openness, honesty and accountability to colleagues, volunteers, donors and all others involved with Illumination Foundation.

Must accept personal responsibility and accountability for performance of duties.

Must maintain confidentiality of work related information and materials.

Preferred Experience/ Minimum Qualifications

Required:

Valid CA Driver’s License and eligibility for company vehicle insurance.

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Customer and client relations skills

Proficiency in Microsoft OfficeSuite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).

Understanding of MediCal, Medicare, and continuum of care homeless services

Knowledge of medical coding, specifically ICD10 coding

Preferred:

2+ years working in homeless services preferred.

M.A. or EMT certification

Bilingual in English and Spanish.
