Eurofins is dedicated to delivering testing services that contribute to the health and safety of society and the planet, and to its corporate responsibility to protect the environment and ensure diversity, equity, and inclusion across the entire network of Eurofins companies.The Analyst I prepares and analyzes environmental samples using standard analytical techniques according to approved scientific and EPA methodology in compliance with Eurofins Environment Testing Quality Assurance programs and standard operating procedures (SOPs).This position can be physical job that may require standing for long periods, working with organic solvents, laboratory glassware and specialized equipment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Performs routine lab tasks that provide experience and familiarization with methods, practices, and programs. These include:

Preparation of samples using standard techniques

Performing chemical analysis using standard techniques

Evaluation and quantification of data

Recording and reporting data and any unusual test occurrences to the supervisor

Performing routine instrument maintenance

Competancy on complex instrumentation instrument specific software (training is provided)

Responsible for keeping personal training documentation (training records, IDOC/DOC) current and accurate

Responsible for timely completion of assigned/scheduled QC samples (MDL, LOD/LOQ, PT)

As required, documents NCMs for projects with quality issues

Understands and utilizes backlog reports to manage personal workload.

Works under close supervision using routine and standard methods

Regular attendance and punctuality

Responsible for general housekeeping in work area

Proficient, with IDOCs, for a minimum for 50% of methods carried out in the department

Responsible for performing job functions in compliance with Eurofins Environment Testing environmental, health and safety and quality assurance standards

Demonstrates and promotes the company vision

BS or BA in chemistry or related field. 3 years laboratory experience may substitute for degree.

EPA method D1633, 537.1 or 533 experience would be beneficial

Laboratory experience helpful

Previous production-oriented work helpful (awareness and ability to meet deadlines)

Perform calculations with calculator / mathematical formulas

Demonstrate good problem solving skills

Work independently following written or verbal instructions

Cooperate and coordinate both orally and in writing

Participation in teamwork and meetings

Reading, writing and speaking skills

Follow and learn appropriate protocols in one or more of the following disciplines:

Organic preparation

Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry

Wet Chemistry

High Resolution preparation and analysis

LCMS preparation and analysis

Compensation range: $20- $25 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.Work schedule: Monday - Friday. Must be able to work one of the following shifts:Prep

3:30 AM-12 PM

6 AM-2:30 PM

11 AM-7:30 PM

Instrument

7AM-3:30 PM

8AM-4:30 PM
