Description Patient Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for ensuring an exceptional experience for patients before, during, and after their visit. They are responsible for managing appointment scheduling, patient inquiries, and administrative support to maintain efficient office operations. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, a patient-centered approach, and a strong ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical environment.Key Responsibilities:
Appointment Scheduling: Manage scheduling for patient consultations, follow-ups, and procedures using clinic scheduling software, ensuring optimal coordination for patients and providers.
Patient Communication: Serve as the main contact for patients, handling inquiries via phone, email, or in-person in a professional and empathetic manner.
Check-In and Check-Out Duties: Greet patients at the front desk, verify insurance and personal information, collect copayments, and ensure proper documentation is completed.
Records Management: Accurately maintain and update patient records in compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards.
Insurance Coordination: Verify insurance coverage, assist with pre-approvals or referrals, and coordinate billing queries with the administrative team.
Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with healthcare providers, nurses, and administrative teams to ensure seamless patient care.
Problem-Solving: Address and resolve patient concerns or complaints promptly, escalating issues to the appropriate person if needed.
Patient Education: Provide information about treatment plans, follow-up care, and office policies where applicable.
Requirements
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical office or healthcare environment.
Proficiency in medical scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and team members.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Familiarity with insurance providers, billing practices, and HIPAA regulations.
A patient-focused attitude with a commitment to delivering the highest level of customer service.
