Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Walnut Creek, California. The Staff Accountant will be integral to our finance team, providing technical support in preparing, maintaining, and operating accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting. With a focus on vendor databases and 1099 processing, the Staff Accountant will also assist with preparing data analysis reports and presentations for stakeholders.Responsibilities: Provide direct administrative support to the Finance Manager, performing responsible clerical work in all areas of finance and accounting. Collect and reconcile payroll data, responding to accounting and carrier requests for financial data. Maintain and operate accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting. Oversee vendor databases and process 1099 forms. Manage cash receipts and disbursements, post revenue, prepare bank deposits, and related reports. Participate in gathering, assembling, tabulating, entering, checking, verifying, balancing, adjusting, recording, and filing financial data to ensure accurate reporting. Assist with preparing, maintaining, and/or verifying various accounting, financial, and statistical records, ledgers, logs, and files.Requirements Possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Proficient in Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, and Month End Close tasks Previous experience in a similar role preferred Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsRobert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
