PurposeNewport, a leading independent retirement services firm, is looking for a talented Director of Marketing to join our team. Working in collaboration with our in-house, full-service Communications department and leveraging our vendors, you will lead, optimize, and execute our marketing strategy. Essential Functions: Must be able to assume responsibility for and effectively perform these functions:
Work alongside the executive leadership team and senior leaders to support the company’s overall strategic direction and amplify our brand through marketing, advertising, and communication campaigns
Translate Newport goals into effective, integrated marketing strategies and campaigns
Initiate marketing strategies to achieve near-term and long-term objectives and manage the execution of those strategies through tactical planning
Measure what works, what doesn’t work, and drive business decisions based on the analysis of that data
Ensure that we are consistently communicating our brand attributes and language across all channels, particularly our website, social media and other client, advisor or publicly facing touch points
Working in collaboration with our in-house Communications team, help the writing, design, and promotion of marketing materials
Oversee and execute on all forms of digital marketing: Execute email campaigns and digital ads, guide the development of the company’s corporate website, develop social media campaigns, etc.
Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations for adoption where appropriate
Collaborate with staff at all levels (including executives) as well as outside vendors on marketing initiatives
Participate in Communications team planning, strategy, staffing, etc.
Experience and Education Requirements:
7+ years of marketing experience with demonstrated success in B2B brand management as well as creating and executing on marketing programs in a financial services environment
Strong ability to collaborate with others for success in a fast-paced and dynamic environment in a growing company
Thorough knowledge of, and experience executing, corporate and digital marketing communications
Creative problem solver with ability to think outside of the box
Growth orientation with ability to work with resources at hand
Experience within the retirement services industry
Outstanding project management skills and attention to detail/quality
Strong familiarity with MS Word, PowerPoint and other desktop publishing software
Commercial experience leveraging the value of social networks
Working knowledge of marketing automation and sales automation platforms such as HubSpot and ClickDimensions
Working knowledge of web content management systems such as Kentico and Word Press
Basic familiarity with digital and graphic design
Excellent creative writing and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to craft compelling messaging and positioning – and translating that into effective campaigns
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
Attitude of equally a leader and a doer
Blend of creativity and analytical skills
Strong results-oriented and metrics-driven approach to problem solving
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business/Marketing or a related field
