Yard, Office and Shop Custodian.
Operations:
A. Oversee the arrival and departure of all drivers and equipment.
B. Manage the flow of equipment sent to the shop.
C. Making decision based on safety and mechanical evaluation, should this equipment be sent
to the shop prior to leaving company yard.
D. Document all communication with drivers and any issues that arise with any equipment. “Truck and Trailer #’s,
description of Issue along with driver(s) name.
E. Confirming all company drivers are arriving and departing on time based on the schedule that was assigned to them by our company dispatchers.
F. You will be responsible for relaying any delays to dispatchers and or customers.
G. Communicating with dispatchers with your findings after the last driver has left the company’s yard. Keep a binder with your daily notes and decision.
Office Duties:
A. Confirm with the office management daily if there are any trash cans that need to be emptied and if there are any othe tasks that need to be addressed.
Yard Duties:
A. Confirms that all trash cans located at different areas in our companies’ yard have been emptied. At no time should
a trash can be overflowing with trash.
B. Trash should be picked up if trash is seen around the yard. Document and clean any material that was dropped by
driver(s) in the yard or at the trucks assigned parking spot.
C. Weekly mowing of lawn and trimming bushes as needed, use air blower to keep office sidewalk clean of debris.
Shop Duties:
A. Check with management for any special assignments that may arise that should immediately be addressed.
B. Upkeeping of the shop and the surrounding areas for safety related hazards
C. Help maintain a safe working environment for all shop and G&J employees.
D. Keeping up with all OSHA and State requirements regarding designated areas for all empty and full oxygen and
acetylene tanks. Maintain a clean and safe area where recycled oil, antifreeze and other fluids are kept.
E. All eyewash stations must stay full, extension cords must be placed back in their designated areas.
F. Air hoses and other types of hoses must always be picked after usage and stored in designated area.
