Prime Labor & Staffing currently has multiple openings for Custodian positions working within a municipality. These are temporary, full-time positions, lasting approximately 960 hours.
Applicants must have previous custodial experience and must be able to perform a full range of custodial duties related to the care, routine maintenance, and cleaning of assigned buildings and facilities. Applicants will also be expected to interact with and provide basic information and assistance to city staff as well as the public, and perform related work as required.
This is an experienced position that is responsible for performing the full range of custodial duties required to ensure that city buildings and facilities provide the highest level of sanitation and safety for the public and staff use.
Work duties include but are not limited to:
Cleaning and sanitizing restroom facilities
Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, waxing, stripping and polishing floors
Empty, clean, and sanitize waste receptacles
Replace and fix light fixtures
Dusting and polishing furniture and equipment
Maintain grounds around buildings, sweeping walkways, water plants and trees, and clean buildings and exteriors
Applicants must have knowledge of:
Proper cleaning methods and the safe usage of cleaning materials, disinfectants, custodial tools and equipment, as well as the use and minor maintenance of hand and power tools and equipment used in custodial work
Applicants should have the ability to:
Bend, lift, twist, stoop, reach, and climb to perform work
Lift, carry, push and pull materials and objects up to 50 pounds and heavier with the use of proper equipment
Applicants must have prior Custodian or Janitorial experience, a valid driver's license, as well as a clean DMV for last 5 years
