R&D Technician
Job Type: Full time
Experience: 2 years automotive related experience
Education: High School diploma
Scope: Reports to the Sr. Manager of Engineering. Scope of tasks reflect a low to moderate level of ability and experience in automotive mechanics, metal fabrication and electrical disciplines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities may include:
Install and test automotive brake system components
Fabricate and repair welded metal fixtures and racks
Assemble and repair machine tooling fixtures
Fabricate, repair, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot automated product testers
Conduct testing, record data, and report results per engineer’s direction
Maintain and repair company vehicles
Compile and place parts orders for R&D Shop purposes
Provide assistance to designated Engineering personnel
Work to complete tasks correctly and on-time. Actively communicate findings, issues, delays and progress to management
Follow safety practices, SOP (Standard Operating Procedures), conduct activities with a high degree of discipline, and operate machinery safely. Communicate unsafe situations/behaviors to supervisor.
Maintain currency in latest relevant technologies
Seek professional growth and advancement through continued education

Requirements:
High School diploma
2 yrs. automotive related experience
Metal fabrication and welding experience
Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
Good trouble-shooting/problem solving skills
Clean driving record
Good written, oral, and interpersonal skills
Attention to detail and good organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate from a Technical School and/or Junior College
Experience in electromechanical manufacturing and assembly
Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical print reading
Experience using Microsoft Teams and PowerPoint
Knowledge/understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics
Knowledge of PLC programming

Hourly: $20 - $30
