We’re a reputable and growing construction company seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented, and reliable LEAD CARPENTER to join our team. This is not an entry-level position—we’re looking for a seasoned pro with 5-10 years of hands-on experience at JOURNEYMAN LEVEL across all major areas of residential and light commercial construction.
Key Qualifications:
10+ years in the field with proven construction experience
Expert in framing and finish carpentry
Skilled in door and window installation
Working knowledge of concrete, plumbing, electrical, and roofing
Ability to read and interpret plans, perform accurate layouts, and lead by example on the job site
The Lead Carpenter is not just a tradesman. He is also a manager - making sure the inhouse crew has the right tools and putting the right guys on the right tasks. Making sure everything is running efficiently and productively, building morale and increasing the crew's overall experience. You will be taking young guys and turning them into seasoned tradesmen.
Clean and professional appearance
Contractor's License and Liability Insurance: Not necessary but a plus. You will be 1099d at a higher pay.

Technologically savvy - We don't require too much use of technology at the lead carpenter level but we do require some. You will be using your phone or an Ipad to list tasks, material, equipment and other information to properly assign your team to tasks on multiple jobs.
Moldable - You will be expected to follow the existing parameters and adjust to fit our methods and work ethic. Universality is key for any business and we want every person in our crew to reflect the same work ethic, processes, and attitude.
Physically fit - Work at Empire Builders can be physically demanding. We are looking for an individual who is able to carry at least fifty pounds and to be able to do that all day. Keep in mind, fifty pounds is the minimum.
