We seek a skilled and dedicated Heavy Duty Truck Technician to join our team.
Position Overview:
As a Heavy Duty Truck Technician at Channel Islands Logistics, you will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing our fleet of trucks. Your expertise will ensure that our vehicles operate efficiently and safely, supporting our mission of providing top-tier logistics solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and repair on heavy-duty trucks, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
Conduct inspections to identify potential problems and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work.
Collaborate with the logistics team to schedule and prioritize repairs.
Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to perform tests and identify issues.
Keep up-to-date with industry standards and advancements in truck technology.
Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent and technical certifications are preferred.
Minimum of 3 years experience as a heavy-duty truck technician.
Proficiency with diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
Strong understanding of diesel engine systems, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver’s license; Commercial Drivers License preferred.
