IGNITE Collective, Inc. was founded in 2013 to provide individualized supports to teens and adults with developmental disabilities in their communities. Since our inception we have grown to a family of passionate professionals who support people throughout California. Our diverse team is proud to help people live the lives they want to live and offer mentorship to guide through challenges, gain essential life skills, and foster personal growth.

Job Description:

We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Independent Living Skills Mentors in Thousand Oaks. As a mentor at IGNITE, you will play a vital role in helping teens and adults develop the skills necessary for a successful transition into independent living. You will provide guidance, support, and encouragement to help our participants achieve their goals. We offer flexible hours and take a person centered approach when we match mentors.

Key Responsibilities:

Mentor and support teens and adults with disabilities in acquiring essential life skills, including budgeting, meal planning, job searching, transportation, time management, attending educational classes, and more.

Create a safe and supportive environment for the person you are supporting to discuss challenges, set goals, and make progress toward independence.

Develop personalized plans and strategies to meet the unique needs and aspirations of each person you support under the supervision of the program coordinator.

Engage in community outings and in other meaningful experiences with the person you support to promote an inclusive lifestyle.

Submit timesheets and session logs in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Empathetic, patient, and able to build positive relationships.
