Job Overview:
The Channel Islands Yacht Club is seeking a part time reliable and detail-oriented Maintenance & Cleaning Technician to maintain the cleanliness and functionality of our facility. This position involves performing light maintenance tasks, and general cleaning duties to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our members and guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform light maintenance tasks including minor repairs, painting, and general upkeep of the facility.
Assist in maintaining the exterior and interior cleanliness of the facility, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming common areas.
Wash and sanitize dishes, kitchen utensils, pot, pans, and equipment used in the kitchen and dining areas.
Maintain organization of kitchen storage areas.
Maintain organization of tool sheds.
Assist in deep cleaning (Ship Shape) of all kitchen appliances (Hood, ovens, grills, fryers, refrigerators, etc.)
Take out trash and recycling, ensuring that all bins are emptied regularly.
Help maintain the cleanliness of restrooms and replenish supplies as needed.
Assist in maintaining the exterior of the facility by picking up debris and ensuring outdoor patio and deck areas are tidy.
Report any significant maintenance issues to the House Captain for further action.
Follow all safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
Provide general assistance with set up and break down of special events or room rentals as directed.
Assist with arranging tables and chairs as directed.
Perform preventive maintenance task, such as changing filters, and checking for wear and tear to prevent breakdowns.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in cleaning, maintenance, or related roles is a plus, but not required.
Basic knowledge of cleaning products and equipment.
Ability to perform light maintenance tasks and use basic hand tools.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.
Good physical stamina and ability to lift and move light equipment and materials up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Must be able to pass background check.
Must possess a valid California driver’s license with clean driving record.
Ability to effectively communicate and follow directions from supervisor.
Schedule:
Flexible hours, including weekends or evenings, depending on club activities and events.
5 day a week, Thursday thru Monday
28-32 hours per week
