Description There is an excellent opportunity at Robert Half for a Full Charge Bookkeeper. To be successful in this role and take advantage of the growth potential, you should multitask effectively, manage your time well, and have strong communication and organizational skills. In this role, you will handle all general accounting and bookkeeping functions including the preparation of financial statements; and establishing and maintaining the accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives of the business. Based in Ventura, California, the Full Charge Bookkeeper role is a long-term contract / temporary opportunity.What you get to do every single day

Maintaining historical records by filing documents

Performing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including collections

Ensuring monthly, quarterly and year end close happens accurately and on time

Maintaining knowledge of current federal, state, and local legal requirements, ensuring adherence to them, filing reports, and communicating with management on needed actions

Reconciling bank and general ledgers, and processing payroll

Overseeing work of accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers

Tracking fixed assets and constructing depreciation schedules

Putting together the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement Requirements - Earlier work involving Excel and Peachtree

Payroll experience preferred

Proficient in accrual and cash basis of accounting

3 or more years of experience in the bookkeeping field

Outstanding skills in analyzing financial data and promptly generating accurate reports

High school diploma or similar accreditation, and an AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business recommended

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are a must

Ability to multitask and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds

Full charge bookkeeping experience

Solid understanding of QuickBooks

Grant accounting experience preferred

Proficiency in non-profit fund accounting

Excel Formulas experience preferred

Be able to adapt and thrive in constantly changing environments

Capable of working independently with minimal oversight
