Bookkeeping Acct Mgr - Remote - Construction & CA Payroll a must

We are a growing woman-owned small business, dedicated to providing quality bookkeeping and business management services to small businesses. We work with many different types of organizations, specializing in small contractors and single-attorney law firms. We are looking for a part time accountant/bookkeeper to join our team. This position is for 15-20 hours per week, to work remotely from your own office.

Candidate must be highly detail-oriented with thorough hands-on accounting and bookkeeping experience. You must have experience working with multiple clients, meeting deadlines on time, and maintaining a sense of urgency to deliver reliable financial data on a monthly basis. You must be comfortable with maintaining your own schedule, working closely with clients and accountants and providing up to date information to management. EXPERIENCE WITH SAGE 100 CONTRACTOR, QUICKBOOKS DESKTOP, QUICKBOOKS ONLINE, THE GOOGLE SUITE AND DROPBOX, ARE REQUIRED.

Qualifications

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.

2+ years of demonstrated ability to provide detailed bookkeeping support – accounts payable, accounts receivable, closing books on a monthly basis and preparing financial reporting and analysis for small businesses.

1+ years of transactional accounting experience using QuickBooks for/in a professional organization.

1+ years of transactional accounting experience using Sage 100 Contractor for/in a professional organization.

As it applies to CA: Familiarity with Trust Accounting, job costing and Construction Accounting, including Payroll taxes, Prevailing Wage, Certified Payroll, invoicing, collections, WIP reporting, accruals and retentions, and progress billing.

Capacity and commitment to work between 15-20 hours a week during traditional daytime business hours supporting clients.

Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both orally and in writing.

Willingness to consistently and accurately follow established policies and procedures.

A passion for and sense of personal satisfaction in delighting clients and helping small businesses succeed.

Confidence in learning and embracing new technology to solve client issues.

Experience in developing strong remote team relationships based on trust, accountability, integrity, and sharing of best practices.

Commitment to maintain the highest level of confidentiality while working with client data.

A dedicated quiet and private office space that has a reliable, high-speed internet connection.
