Northwest DivisionShimmick’s Northwest Division focuses on transportation, transit, water resources, and water treatment projects in northern California and throughout the Northwest. In addition, this division was awarded the APWA 2019 Public Works Project Award in the environment category for the Alameda Creek Fish Passage project in California.ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

Under direct supervision, performs routine duties requiring knowledge of basic engineering principles.

Limited exercise of judgment is required on details of work.

Performs specific and limited portions of broader assignments.

Spends large percentage of time performing estimating take-offs and performing walk-downs for quantity tracking purposes, reporting of installed quantities, performing field inspections to verify adherence to design.

QualificationsMinimum Requirements:

Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous internship experience in engineering or construction industry

Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software

Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD, HCS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models)

Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Suite

Strong problem-solving skills and consistent attention to detail

Ability to manage changing deadlines and work well under pressure for multiple team leaders

Work independently and effectively to prioritize multiple tasks

Highly organized with excellent time management skills

Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills

Additional Information:

Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.

The salary range for this position is between $78,000.00 to $88,00.00 per year depending on experience and/or education.Shimmick's comprehensive benefits plan includes medical - including a NO-COST option, dental, and vision coverage; as well as options to participate in a Flexible Spending Account or Health Savings Account.
