Triage, research and respond to inquiries from internal clients and union representatives regarding union contract compliance

Assist with investigating, responding to and preparing for labor grievances & arbitrations, and independently handle union grievances, through pre-arbitration phase

Execute and support union contract administration

Support collective bargaining, including preparation, research, contract implementation and drafting

Assist employment lawyers in gathering information for responses to employment legal demand letters, agency charges, and other legal and administrative matters

Partner with human resources in connection with investigations and potential discipline regarding employee misconduct within parameters of union agreements

Build relationships with human resources team members, operational managers, union representatives and attorneys

Provide additional support to the Labor & Employment department, as assigned

Basic Requirements

Bachelor’s degree

2+ years for Contracts Specialist, or 4+ years for Sr. Contracts Specialist, of relevant professional experience and/or prior labor relations experience

Desired Characteristics

Proficiency with web-based databases and Microsoft Office suite, including Excel & Power Point

Experience drafting, negotiating, and working with contracts

Ability to manage a high-volume and time-sensitive workload

Superior oral and written communication, plus interpersonal, skills

Ability to handle extremely sensitive and confidential information with discretion

Excellent administrative skills and attention to detail, with high organization

Ability to work independently with legal, business, and HR teams

This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
