Accounting Manager

Description Our manufacturing client in Union City is seeking an interim Accounting Supervisor for a 3+ month engagement. This role primarily involves overseeing the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting policies across multiple sites. The role requires 3-4 days onsite in Union City, California and is expected to pay $55-$60/hr.Responsibilities: Oversee the functions of accounts payable and accounts receivable across various sites, ensuring adherence to internal controls and accounting policies. Validate account coding in accounts payable entries and ensure payments are made accurately and on time. Monitor and manage the Received Not Invoiced and AP aging report tie to GL. Aid in the resolution of discrepancies in the three-way match process. Support in the creation of monthly AP accrual entries and weekly check runs. Evaluate accounts receivable entries to ensure appropriate revenue recognition policies and payment terms are adhered to, and payments are received on time. Review cash receipts entries for proper cash applications. Monitor the AR aging report and assist with collections, working closely with the customer service team to resolve any billing issues. Verify the alignment of customer purchase orders and shipment packing slips with customer billings. Provide backup support for AP and AR functions during periods of staff absence. Coordinate the collection of support documentation for the annual audit. Assist with the month-end close process, including AP, AR, and GL. Prepare month-end journal entries and account reconciliations.
