Description Job Summary:The Ocean Export Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and facilitating the international shipment of goods via ocean freight. This role involves managing export documentation, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, coordinating with carriers and customers, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.Key Responsibilities:Documentation Management:
Prepare and review all necessary export documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, commercial invoices, and certificates of origin.
Ensure compliance with export regulations and company policies.
Maintain accurate records of all export activities and documentation.
Shipment Coordination:
Coordinate the booking of ocean freight with carriers and ensure timely shipment of goods.
Track and monitor shipments to ensure timely delivery and resolve any issues that may arise during transit.
Communicate with customers, suppliers, and carriers to provide updates and resolve any discrepancies.
Compliance and Regulations:
Stay informed about international shipping regulations and ensure all shipments comply with relevant laws and regulations.
Handle customs clearance processes and ensure all necessary documentation is submitted accurately and on time.
Assist in the implementation of export control procedures and best practices.
Customer Service:
Provide excellent customer service by responding to inquiries and providing shipment status updates.
Address and resolve customer complaints and issues promptly and effectively.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and carriers.
Reporting and Analysis:
Generate reports on export activities, shipment statuses, and key performance indicators.
Analyze shipping data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Assist in the preparation of budget forecasts and performance evaluations.
Requirements
Qualifications:Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in ocean export or international logistics.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations and documentation requirements.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and logistics software.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
