Find your future with us.Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BDS) is looking for an Experienced Procurement Field Representative (Level 3) to join our Global Field Operations (GFO) team based out of Sylmar, CA , in the Los Angeles area.The position is located in Sylmar, CA and will require daily travel in the greater North Los Angeles region, therefore the candidate is preferred to reside in the Valley area of LA.The candidate will be joining a diverse and highly motivated team in working supplier performance management in the West Region of the United States. Our Global Field Operations Representatives supervise emergent offload/overload suppliers including processors, philanthropic, machine and sheet metal shop and provide technical assistance in areas like manufacturing, planning and requirements interpretation to ensure delivery schedule compliance and product conformity.Global Field Operations (GFO) is the presence of Boeing at its suppliers and sub-tiers, and are responsible for being the integrators for driving communication and resolutions in our supply base. It is the responsibility of Field Representatives to proactively problem solve and drive overall supplier recovery to ensure delivery and quality compliance.Position Responsibilities:

Supervise emergent offload/overload suppliers including external processors, machine shop and sheet metal shop to ensure schedule compliance and product conformity.

Identify, establish and maintain priorities for deliveries of products, services and data that support vital supplier contractual corrective actions and resolution of issues (e.g., poor schedule performance, product and producibility issues) to ensure contractual compliance.

Communicate across functions (e.g., procurement agents, suppliers, internal customers, field quality, engineering, manufacturing) to report status and concerns.

Co-facilitate with the supplier and procurement agent the development of a recovery plan and unplanned demand requirements.

Identify needs for training on business and manufacturing practices (e.g., requirements interpretation and clarification, contractual compliance, scheduling tools, technical skills, self-assessment) to supplier personnel for improvement or enhancement delivery performance.

Participate with the procurement agent in on-site supplier assessments (e.g., Preferred Supplier Certification, Proof of Process and Rate Readiness) to identify supplier capacity and capability to perform current and projected work statement and support Boeing procurement strategy.

Monitor suppliers' performance-to-plan to ensure compliance to contractual requirements and provide status back to supervisor and procurement agent.

Identify and communicate opportunities to implement new processes or improves existing processes and report back to management and make recommendation to procurement agent.

Assess supplier resource plan and reports results to supervisor/procurement agent.

Support supplier work movements to ensure seamless execution.

The selected candidate will be required to perform some work occasionally onsite at the team base in Long Beach, CA. The position requires daily travel to supplier sites in Northern Los Angeles.The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

3+ years of experience managing suppliers/vendors to deliver products and services

3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Products like Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

3+ years of experience with Supply Chain Operations

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Bachelor’s degree or higher

Experience and/or knowledge in the following disciplines: Industrial Engineering, Lean Manufacturing, Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Operations, Project Planning; Scheduling and Project Management

Capable of traveling up to 75% of the time (local travel)

Typical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.).Relocation:Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
