If this is you, come build the future with us.Key job responsibilitiesKey Job Responsibilities· Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to develop, design, and bring to market innovative devices, services and software applications· Design and build innovative technologies that solve hard customer problems and increase customer engagement with Amazon products.· Work in teams or as a lead to deliver medium to large software development projects, collaborate with other engineers, partners, Technical program managers, Product managers and User Interface design and Quality Assurance engineers.Be a technical adviser to stakeholders and provide technical information and guidance to leaders.Lead and contribute to operational excellence initiatives and ensure smooth operational execution and monitoring of Software componentsShare knowledge with team members and mentor SDE-Is or new hires and equip them with the knowledge to transform them into contrubuting member.A day in the lifeAs a SDE on the team, you will collaborate with other developers, product managers, technical program managers, team manager and Quality Assurance engineers to understand product and software requirements, come up with design and implementation plans clarifying any ambiguity. Use team and stakeholders to review the design/implementation. Work with TPMs to provide estimates. Participate in Team Sprint planning and execution as well as retrospectives. Be available as On-call when it is the engineer's turn and take care of on-call operational maintenance items. Write documentation for design, implementations, APIs, etc. Mentor other engineers.About the teamFire Tablet is an iconic product and a thriving business adored by customers around the world – but it’s still “day one” in creating engaging experiences for Tablet customers and improving the experience over multi-generations of tablets. Tablet Sunnyvale Software develoment team is responsible for creating, developing, and maintaining compelling Fire Tablet applications for Fire Tablet devices.Basic Qualifications

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Android software stack and Application development expertise

The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market.
