Description We are looking for a diligent Credit Clerk in the construction/contractor industry, located in Sunnyvale, California. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity and involves key responsibilities in bookkeeping. The Credit Clerk will mainly focus on processing customer credit applications, maintaining accurate customer credit records, and handling customer credit inquiries. Responsibilities: Process customer credit applications with precision and efficiency Keep customer credit records up-to-date and accurate Resolve customer credit inquiries in a timely and professional manner Monitor customer credit accounts regularly Take appropriate action to collect delinquent payments when necessary Collaborate with the finance team to ensure all records are accurate Report any inconsistencies in customer credit records Assist in the preparation of financial statements Help in the development of financial procedures Comply with all financial regulations and standards. Requirements Applicant must have a minimum of two years of experience in a bookkeeping role within the construction or contractor industry Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, FreshBooks, or similar is required The candidate should possess strong numerical skills and attention to detail Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines is essential Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is required Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary The candidate should have a strong understanding of general ledger functions An associate's degree in finance, accounting, or related field is preferred The candidate must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team Knowledge of construction industry regulations and standards is beneficial The candidate should have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically Experience with payroll processing is preferred The applicant must have knowledge of accounts payable and receivable Knowledge of tax procedures and regulations is beneficial The candidate should be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
