The Reality Labs Technology Engineering team has the responsibility for taking breakthroughs in core technology and delivering them to market at scale. The Technology Engineering Camera Team seeks a Camera Image Quality Engineer who has extended experience in conducting image quality analysis for novel products.
- Design and conduct objective and subjective lab and field experiments of prototype hardware and software to critically examine image quality, behavior, and performance
- Analyze experiment results and give feedback to direct feature development (Hardware, ISP, Algorithm design and tuning) with cross functional business partners
- Test in the lab and in the Field (required short trips to test locations) capturing image quality datasets for camera development
- File bugs, create reports, and lead presentations on image quality issues
- Bachelors degree in photography, imaging science, color science, or related fields/experience
- 2+ years of experience using professional photography equipment
- 2+ years of experience operating equipment in an imaging lab
- Experience designing, executing, and analyzing subjective and objective image quality test
- Experience designing test methodologies to answer complex questions
- Experience identifying, producing, and isolating image quality bugs via visual analysis
- Masters degree in photography, imaging science, color science
- 5+ years of experience using professional photography equipment
- 5+ years of experience operating equipment in an imaging lab
- Experience overall systems interactions in the image pipeline and their impact on image quality
- User Experience as it regards to photography and videography features
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: Retouching, photography, videography, imaging lab design and setup, software QA process, camera hardware quality validation, or camera ISP and computation photography features
