Description Robert Half is searching for an energetic Controller to join a reputable services company. In this leadership role, you will manage an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, manages the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, analyzes accounting and internal control systems, and guides departmental staff. Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners

Assure client expectations are met by reviewing deliverables of self and team

Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis

Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

Act on items beyond formal job responsibilities

Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash

Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed

Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time

Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective

Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

Requirements - Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines

Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing

Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes

Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred

3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired

Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

QuickBooks experience desired

Deep understanding of Analyze Financial Statements

Expertise in month end closings

Prior work done in public accounting is desired

Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
