Job Description:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable individual to lead daily Nutrition and Health classes through culinary arts for students in 1st to 5th grades. This position requires facilitating three 1-hour sessions each day, engaging young learners in the fundamentals of healthy eating and cooking. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and an interest in nutrition and health, although prior teaching experience, nutrition knowledge, and cooking skills are not mandatory. Comprehensive training will be provided to ensure the facilitator is well-equipped to deliver fun and informative classes.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct three 1-hour Nutrition and Health classes daily, using culinary arts to teach students about healthy eating habits.
Engage and inspire students from k-12 grade through interactive and educational activities.
Manage class materials and setup, ensuring a safe and organized learning environment.
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to help them understand the basics of nutrition and healthy living.
Collaborate with school staff and program coordinators to enhance the curriculum and class experience.
Requirements:
Ability to work with children in a classroom setting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Reliable transportation to various locations within the Stockton Unified School District.
Commitment to the full duration of the program, from June 3rd to June 28th.
Training:
Comprehensive training will be provided to the selected candidate, covering all necessary aspects of nutrition, health, and culinary education required for the role.
Location:
Classes will be conducted at various locations across the Stockton Unified School District, with specific sites to be determined.
