Job Title: EVS SupervisorJob DescriptionEmployees must abide by all Joint Commission Requirements including, but not limited to, sensitivity to cultural diversity, patient care, patients' rights and ethical treatment, safety and security of physical environments, emergency management, teamwork, respect for others, participation in ongoing education and training, communication and adherence to safety and quality programs, sustaining compliance with National Patient Safety Goals, and licensure and health screenings. Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Service Standards of the Hospital(s).Responsibilities

Evaluate work habits, performance, and attendance of staff.

Document and make recommendations regarding employees' performance, retention, and/or promotion.

Take corrective action as indicated by hospital policies and appropriate labor agreements.

Maintain required records, gather statistics, and prepare reports as required.

Monitor workflows and effect change to improve quality and efficiency of services.

Plan, schedule, and direct staff to assigned areas of the hospital and its satellite facilities.

Monitor and track progress; provide feedback to staff.

Tour hospital regularly, covering each assigned area to observe and inspect cleanliness of facilities and work in progress.

Train staff in the technique of cleaning and disinfecting facilities, use of chemical agents and equipment, collection and disposal of infectious materials, and general environmental maintenance particular to acute hospitals.

Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies in all areas.

Ensure employees adhere to company policies and legal regulations.

Act as a link between staff and upper management.

Participate in the hiring process, screen, interview, and provide recommendations for candidate selection.

Perform daily Patient Satisfaction rounds to solicit same day patient feedback and ensure service standards are met.

The EVS team is a union environment, but supervisors and managers are not union. Business formal attire is required.
