Duties: We have an opportunity for a talented and highly motivated Research Associate I/II to join our efforts to explore the development of novel therapeutics in the Early Discovery Biochemistry Department. Specifically, you will be helping us implement and develop a novel technology focused on discovering peptide-based macrocycles for targets of interest across a wide range of therapeutic areas. This work will include protein purification, PCR/qPCR methods, peptide display experiments, analyzing next generation sequencing data, designing/implementing/analyzing in vitro biochemical biophysical protein/peptide assays. You will be responsible for executing established protocols and improving workflows over time; therefore, attention to details, ability to think critically, multi-tasking capabilities, and organizational skills are required. The successful candidate will be working on joint projects between client (US) and client (Switzerland) and may require meetings outside of standard business hours a few times per month. Skills: Expertise or experience in molecular biology, protein purification, display technologies (phage, yeast, mRNA, or aptamers), binding assays (SPR, ITC, or BLI), and laboratory automation experience is a plus. The selected candidate must be motivated, thoughtful, and capable of working both independently and in a collaborative team setting. Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills are also required. Education: A M.S., or Ph.D. in molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related discipline is required.
