Position Overview:

The Working Foreman is a hybrid role combining on-site supervision with hands-on trade work. You will oversee and participate in daily site operations across multiple scopes of commercial construction projects. Ideal candidates are seasoned tradespeople with leadership experience, strong carpentry skills, and the versatility to self-perform or manage a variety of construction tasks. You will coordinate labor, materials, and subcontractors to ensure safe, timely, and high-quality delivery of work.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead small crews on-site and participate actively in construction tasks (framing, finish carpentry, light drywall, demo, etc.)

Read and interpret plans, scopes of work, and specifications.

Ensure job sites are clean, organized, and safe at all times.

Coordinate materials, tools, and equipment deliveries.

Communicate daily with project managers regarding progress, issues, and needs.

Manage time efficiently across multiple job sites if needed.

Inspect work to ensure compliance with codes and company standards.

Troubleshoot issues and solve problems quickly and effectively.

Represent the company professionally with clients, inspectors, and subcontractors.

Hands-On Construction Work: Must be capable and experienced in self-performing or assisting with:

Carpentry:

o Framing (metal and wood stud)

o Blocking, backing, doors, frames & hardware

o Finish carpentry and millwork install

Drywall:

o Hanging, patching, minor taping

Concrete:

o Small flatwork, pads, curbs, and formwork

Demolition:

o Selective and structural demo

Layout & Site Prep:

o Use of lasers, chalk lines, and blueprints

Minor Electrical/Mechanical Support:

o Assist with rough-in and finishes (coordination only; licensed subs do final)

Site Utilities & Plumbing Support:

o Trenching, sleeves, supports, and basic install prep

Safety Compliance:

o Install and maintain jobsite signage, barricades, and access controls

Punch List & Closeout:

o Final adjustments, touch-ups, and quality control

Project Management Support

Assist in take-offs, site measurements, and material procurement.

Track deliveries and verify accuracy and quality of materials.

Support inspections and ensure work meets code and contract standards.

Maintain redline drawings and field documentation.

Requirements:

5–10+ years of commercial construction experience with strong self-perform skills.

Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and shop drawings.

Strong carpentry skills required; multi-trade proficiency highly preferred.

Able to lift 50+ lbs, work outdoors, and perform physically demanding tasks.

Proficiency in reading blueprints and construction documents.

Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Must be willing and able to travel.

OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with scheduling software or digital tools (Viewpoint, Procore, etc.)

Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Owns a basic set of tools and PPE.
