The Central Coast Water Authority (CCWA) is a public entity operating a 50 MGD water treatment plant and 120 mile pipeline delivering water from the State Water Project to project participants in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties. We are currently seeking a Water Treatment Plant Operator. Under general supervision of the Water Treatment Plant Supervisor, the Water Treatment Plant Operator will perform skilled work in the operation of the water treatment plant and make minor repairs and adjustments to equipment as required. The Water Treatment Plant Operator takes responsibility for plant and distribution pipeline performance and works with others to provide high quality treated water for distribution to CCWA participants.

Our ideal candidate should have a High School diploma or equivalent plus technical course work in water treatment plant operations, plus two (2) years’ experience in operation and process control of a surface treatment plant. Possession of a valid California State Water Resources Control Board Treatment Operator Grade T-3 (or higher) Certificate and a valid driver’s class C license issued by the California Department of Motor Vehicles are required. Possession of an AWWA Laboratory Analyst Grade I (or above) Certificate or California Water Environmental Association Laboratory Analyst Grade I (or above) and a California State Water Resources Control Board Water Distribution Operator Grade D3 or above certificate are desirable.

The salary range for this position is $93,871 to $114,523 per year.
