Farm Job Description:
Morro Bay Oyster Company is looking for a new team member. We are looking for a positive, reliable, motivated person to work on our beautiful farm in the Morro Bay Estuary. We don't expect you to have any prior oyster farming experience but we look for independent problem solvers who thrive in an outdoor position.
The daily operations normally begin with a short boat ride to our work barge, we work mostly on the barge but do get in the water in wet suits or Waders. We provide all necessary work attire i.e. wetsuits, gloves, boots, slickers. New hires will be trained to care for and plant new oyster seed, harvest, pack, ship and maintain mature oysters.
You will be taught to repair damaged gear and build new gear. You will be running various equipment used to mechanically sort, wash and move market oysters. The job is unique and and although the bay and environment in which we work changes daily, a routine is needed to grow a consistent product.
What is required:
-Full time positions only (mon-fri roughly 730-4:00, this schedule can change due to tides plus or minus 1-2 hours)
-You need your own reliable car.
-Lift 75 plus lbs.
-Able to swim
Must:
Provide a current resume and 3 professional references preferably managers or owners you were employed by.
